What a fantastic evening celebrating our Junior and Senior Cricket Presentations yesterday at Magpies Waitara! A great way to recognise the season that was and celebrate the achievements of all our players. Congratulations to all players and prize winners. 🏆

A bridge too far for our A2’s…

In what was a gruelling final filled with incredible displays of effort and resilience, our Thornleigh A2’s pulled up short this past weekend in the Grand Final.

Choosing to bowl first due to the season’s ladder conditions, Castle Hill showed why they were first for majority of the season with a huge total posted thanks to an incredible innings from Justin Ward. With a massive total to chase, our batsmen tried to play their shots but it wasn’t enough. Congratulations Castle Hill, deserved champions.

Our A2’s were in C Grade last season, so to be in the final of a grade 3 levels higher is a huge testament to the talent of these players. Congratulations to the entire playing group, we can’t wait to see what happens next season!

This year our A Graders have reached the final yet again, after winning last years C Grade competition. The match will be held at Asquith Oval on BOTH Saturday and Sunday from 11am, so come get your cricket fix!

This is the first year that this particular playing group joined the A2 division, and they have taken it by the scruff of the neck with just one loss since joining. They beat top of the ladder Glenorie last week in a dominant display with bat and ball, and the only hurdle left it Castle Hill, who went lost to Thornleigh just 3 weeks ago.

Come down and support the boys as they attempt to make history with an A Grade premiership! There will also be live scoring on PlayHQ.

A huge weekend of semi final drama!

Our A Graders won in spectacular style, with 4 runs to get and only 2 wickets in hand, Will Belcastro smacked a boundary to win first innings, and from there the victory was assured due to incredible batting from Mitch Black and Ed Williams, who notched up a 98 run partnership. More to come for the upcoming grand final!

A huge weekend of semi final drama!

Our A Graders won in spectacular style, with 4 runs to get and only 2 wickets in hand, Will Belcastro smacked a boundary to win first innings, and from there the victory was assured due to incredible batting from Mitch Black and Ed Williams, who notched up a 98 run partnership. More to come for the upcoming grand final!

Our U-15’s finished their season with a parents v kids match that was fun for all and a great way to get the families involved, where our D Graders finished their season with some strong bowling and batting performances including a nifty spell from Sean McGettigan picking up 2 wickets for just 11 runs in his 3 over stint. Great season all!

Our last two teams remaining are C Grade and A Grade, with match information still coming through for C Grade (fingers crossed it’s good news! 🤞) our A Graders have dominated their opposition, holding them to 116 off a shocking 78.2 overs! Josh Osborne wasted no time in showing Glenorie attacking shots, quickly racing to 43* off 37 balls in his pursuit of that total. Good luck to both Thornleigh teams!

Our U-15’s unfortunately went down to a strong Oakhill side this weekend, after a valiant effort and an incredible season. Great job team, better luck next season!

Our A Graders secured their finals position, with a strong team batting effort with highlights including a solid 28 from Ben Elliott and a gritty 18 from Harry Stuart.

C Grade managed to pull off a great draw thanks to huge knocks from Terry McKinnon with a colossal 155* and Chris Flanagan with 61. C Grade wait on other results to see whether they will play finals next week.

Our D Graders put up a good fight against a strong opposition, but unfortunately victory was a bridge too far. They will play their final round next week against St Ives Wahroonga.
